Lawyer Tom Ojienda CV. The New LSK Representative At The Judiciary

By Dorcas Karuana,

The just concluded LSK election have built and broken the careers of some ambitious Kenyan lawyers who vied for the various elective posts.

Former LSK Chair, Mr. Eric Mutua’s landslide win with 60%of the casted votes, was described by his opponent, Mr Charles Kanjama as “a vote of confidence in his abilities.”

The tenure of the outgoing LSK representative at the JSC, Ahmednasir Abdullahi, was marked by controversy and it is no doubt that all eyes were on race for the lawyers’ representative to the Judicial Service Commission.

This position was clinched by former Law Society of Kenya (LSK) chairman Tom Ojienda having garnered 1,689 votes against Ahmednasir Abdullahi’s 1,445 votes.

Talk of ambition, good timing or call it opportunism; Ojienda will now serve as the LSK representative to the JSC for the next two years.

In his acceptance speech, “Ojienda promised to continue with the fight for transparency within the JSC,” reports Daily Nation.

The ambitious, straight talking and abrasive Lawyer Ahmednasir, now has a broken career which hangs in the balance as there is already a court case challenging his acquisition of pupilage certificate.
